Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 1, 2023 — SkyTraq Technology Inc., a leading fabless provider of GNSS positioning solutions, announces the launch of the PX1172RD, a high-precision GNSS receiver with an integrated Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The PX1172RD leverages advanced Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) technology combined with inertial navigation to deliver robust, decimeter-level positioning accuracy, tailored to meet the growing demands of autonomous robotic precision-guidance applications.

Designed to maximize performance in various environments, the PX1172RD offers a versatile sensor fusion solution. For applications equipped with a vehicle’s wheel-tick signal, the module provides an enhanced Automotive Dead-Reckoning (ADR) feature, fusing data from the GNSS, IMU, and wheel-tick sensors to maintain highly accurate positioning, even during RTK outages. In cases where the wheel-tick signal is unavailable, the PX1172RD supports Untethered Dead-Reckoning (UDR), which uses GNSS and IMU data to minimize positional drift. By combining ADR and UDR capabilities in a single compact unit, the PX1172RD simplifies both product integration and supply chain logistics. It is an ideal choice for unmanned ground vehicles applications requiring consistent, high-precision navigation.

The 17mm x 22mm size PX1172RD offers flexible installation in any orientation, with an auto-calibration feature that significantly reduces installation complexity. Its short calibration time and fast RTK convergence enhance overall user experience. In addition, the module can output attitude, gyroscope, and accelerometer sensor data for application use.

The PX1172RD engineering samples, evaluation kits, and datasheets are now available, with volume production scheduled to begin in Q3 2023.
