PRESSHsinchu, Taiwan,July 18, 2007 — SkyTraq Technology Inc, a fabless GPS chipset company, today introduced highly integrated Venus 120 GPS RFIC; offering a high-performance, low-power, and low-cost RF solution for GPS/AGPS and emerging SW-GPS applications. The Venus 120 integrates LNA, image rejection mixer, IF band-pass filter, IF variable gain amplifier, 2bit ADC, VCO, and PLL. Only a few external resistors and capacitors and a reference frequency source are needed to complete a GPS RF module. Noise figure of the internal LNA is 1.7dB. Frequency plan of 13 / 16.368 / 19.5 / 26 MHz is supported. The Venus 120 is housed in 4mm x 4mm QFN24 package. It consumes 15mA at 1.8V operating voltage, and has operating temperature range of –40 ~ +85 deg-C. The newly introduced Venus 120 with currently in-production Venus 5 single-chip baseband products (Venus 521 / 522 / 524) constitute a high-performance 44-channel -158dBm-tracking GPS/AGPS chipset. Footprint of a complete GPS receiver module can be as small as 12mm x 14mm . The tracking current is 45mA running full power. Volume production of Venus 120 is schedule in October. Engineering sample, datasheet, and reference design will be available in August.
